Union County Historical Society

Benefits of Membership in the Union County Historical Society

Membership is the key to maintaining and growing the UCHS.  YOUR membership supports:

* Our annual historic sites tours and Red Bank one-room school experience for Union County students;

* Society programs and special events throughout the year;

* Our collection of old Union County photographs, post cards, account books, diaries,

and items made by Union County craftsmen;

* Membership also enables us to maintain the historic 1793 Dale/Engle/Walker House and farm.

As a member you receive:

* The biennial HERITAGE publication;

* Our newsletters that keep you abreast of a wide range of Society activities;

* Notice of upcoming programs and fast breaking events of interest;

* 10% off all Historical Society items;

* Free use of the extensive reference library in our office located in the Union County Courthouse.  We also provide research services for those who cannot make the trip to Union County (click for research fee schedule).

Members are invited to participate in program planning/ presentation, designing displays, conducting genealogical and historical research, and other volunteer efforts if their time and proximity allows.

Additional contributions from members and friends of the UCHS enable it to do special projects like the microfilming of old phone directories and newspapers.  Gifts from area businesses provide the means to produce our historical calendar.  Annual support from the Union County commissioners provides for office costs.  All memberships and additional giving are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

We look forward to your involvement and support of our historical society.
