Benefits of Membership in the Union County Historical Society

   Your membership supports
            * our annual historic sites tours and Red Bank one-room school experience for Union County students;
            * society programs and bus tours held throughout the year;
            * the growth of our collection of old Union County photographs, post cards, account books, diaries,
               and items made by Union County craftsmen.

   Membership enables us to restore and maintain the historic Dale/Engle/Walker House.

   As a member you receive
            * the biennial HERITAGE publication, and our Newsletters each year which keep you abreast of Society activities.
            * a discount on all books purchased at our courthouse office and reduced fare on our bus trips and events.
            *
10% off all Historical Society items and free use of Library

   Members have free use of the extensive reference library in our office located in the Union County Courthouse.
   We also provide research services for those who cannot make the trip to
Union County via letter and email.

   Additional contributions from members and friends of the society enable us to do special projects like the microfilming of old phone directories and newspapers, and the preservation of the Donald C. Rote award to a graduating Union County student each year.  Gifts from area businesses provide the means to produce our historical calendar.  The annual support from the county commissioners provides for office costs and the match for state grant monies available specifically for county societies.  Membership is the key to all other financial support.  All memberships are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

  We look forward to your involvement and support of our historical society.
